GURDWARA SRI KANDH SAHIB

Gurdwara Sri Kandh Sahib was built at the place where the marriage party of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji rested before the wedding took place. Mool Chand (Guru Nanak's father-in-law) arranged for the brahmin priests to debate the exact marriage rituals to be followed with the Guru.

The Guru was sitting besides a crooked mud wall (kandh) discussing the marriage plans with the brahmin clergy. As the wall was damaged and in a poor state, and there had been recent rains, some in the bride's party thought that it may fall on top of the Guru. An elderly lady was asked by the bride's family to warn Guru Nanak about the danger. The old woman approached the Guru and warned him of the pending danger from the damaged wall.

Guru Nanak just smiled and said "Mata Ji, ehh kand sadeeya layah nehee digdee..." - "This wall will not fall for a long time. The will of God shall prevail." The wall so consecrated by the Guru became an object of veneration for Sikhs who also constructed a memorial platform near it. A symbolic mud wall, neatly plastered, 3 x 5 x 1.5 feet approximately, encased in glass, next to the Guru Granth Sahib at the ground floor, now represents the original wall..

The verandah to the left, as one enters, has wall paintings depicting scenes from the life of Guru Nanak. Guru ka Langar is across the street, opposite the main entrance. The Gurdwara is administered by the Seva Committee Gurdwara Kandh Sahib. Largely attended congregations take place on every full-moon day. All major anniversaries on the Sikh calendar are observed, but the most important function of the year is the fair held to mark the marriage anniversary of Guru Nanak on the seventh day of the light half of the lunar month of Bhadon (August-September).

GURDWARA SRI DHERA SAHIB

Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji had travelled to Batala to marry Bibi Sulakhani in 1487. Gurdwara Sri Dera Sahib Batala is said to be where the home of Bibi Sulakhani was and where the wedding took place. Guru Nanak dev ji and his bride took four rounds instead of the prescribed seven around the sacred fire. It is said that he also spoke a few words at the ceremony. Unfortunately, these words were not duly recorded and nothing has been written regarding Bibi Sulakhani's thoughts or sentiments on the subject.

GURDWARA SRI ACHAL SAHIB And ACHLESHWAR 

DHAAM:

GURUDWARA SHRI ACHAL SAHIB situated on the Batala-Jalandhar road. Its only 7-8 km from Batala Distt Gurdaspur. SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI had discussion with Jogi Bangar Nath here. After listening to Guru Sahib he bowed his head in front of SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI. Later SHRI GURU NANAK SAHIB JI buried a kikkar tree after having a datan. But people requested that its a tree with thorn, GURU SAHIB asked people which tree they wanted, People asked for some fruit tree and then SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI blessed this place that there will be fruit on this tree for whole of year. This kikkar tree is situated in the campus. SHRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI also came at this place for his son Baba Gurdita Ji's marriage. He got eight cornered well digged, which is situated in the front of Gate of Gurudwara Sahib.

ACHLESHWAR DHAM:

Achleshwar Dham, is a temple in Batala, Punjab.It is 7 km away from the main city.Besides with Gurdwara achal sahib. It is a place where Lord Shiv’s Son Kartik  come when he was competiting with Shri Ganesh. Shivji ordered their sons to move around the earth, which one complete it 1st he will be more superior. Ganeshji move around his parents but swami kartik was moving around the earth.When he know that Ganesh has won then he come to batala and want to live here permanently. Then Shiv ji give him blessings that there will come Ganga every year and all 33 crores devtas will come. So it is a place where all the Lords had come.

KALI DWARA MANDIR:

Another very famous and most visited devotional place here is the temple dedicated to Goddess Kali.Its situated in the heart of city i.e Chakri Bazar and maximum rush is seen on tuesday.During Navratri time, a lot of people visit the temple 

SACHKHAND NANAK DHAAM:

The Sachkhand Nanak Dham (‘true house of God’) was founded by Darshan Dass (1953–1987) in Batala, Punjab in 1973. Darshan first visited England during the winter of 1979. There followed many other visits, and the numbers of followers grew rapidly.

SHIV KUMAR BATALVI CULTURAL CENTER:

In 1980, to pay homage to this eminent poet Shiv kumar batalvi, an auditorium was planned at the heart of Batala, where he moved from Pakistan after the Partition. The then governor of Punjab Amin ud-din Ahmad Khan had laid down the foundation stone for Shiv Kumar Batalavi Auditorium.

SHAMSHER KHAN TOMB (HAZIRA PARK) :

Batala houses several monuments of historic and religious importance and Shamsher Khan is one of these.The structure was built by Shamsher Khan and this tomb stands firmly on a raised platform which is surrounded by a low level wall possessing bastions in its corners. This tomb is identical to an octagonal structure which has been crowned with a low yet magnificent dome.Popularly known as Hazira, the Shamsher Khan tomb is a historic monument and is a famous tourist destination. The park surrounding the Hazira provides beautiful and natural pictures scenes of the small town of Batala.In batala its popularly known as HAZIRA PARK.

Once a beautiful piece of architecture, this tomb now is not in a good architectural state today. Currently, this tomb is under repair and preservation. The surroundings of the beautiful monument are also being beautified under the maintenance task

Hazira is a popular tourist attraction and a recreational park which is maintained by the local government. The interior and the exterior walls of the tomb are richly adorned with paintings depicting calligraphic, geometrical and floral designs. The interior decorations of the tomb are still intact but if one views the exteriors, only the traces of these embellishments survive.
